2024 Jackson house - The Jackson House was Tampa's only 24-room boarding house for African Americans during segregation. Owned by Moses and Sarah Jackson who moved to Tampa in the 1800's, they built this home in 1901. The only lodging for Blacks in the 1940's sent from the Robinson's Barbershop and the clubs on Central Avenue.

Jackson House and everyone that worked there was always very nice and understanding. The facility itself was pretty small, but felt very modern and not like a normal hospital setting at all. They have TVs and computers available for the majority of the day. I also really enjoyed that we could freely go out on the [enclosed] patio between meetings. The non-descript house is in a neighborhood that isn't dangerous, but contains many boarded-up houses. There has been no effort to make the house into any sort of attraction or provide information about it or the Jackson family's time living there. Visited October 2023. Travelled solo.
